Nationwide PR Campaign by Keihin Kyuko at 25 Airports - Collaboration on Paper Bags at 96 Airport Shops
(08/13/2008)
Shopping bags printed with Keihin Kyuko advertising on one side appeared at 96 stores at 25 airports around the country starting on August 6.
The stores for the campaign are Blue Sky shops operated at airports nationwide by Jalux, based in Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo. The advertisements printed on bags given to shoppers are an effective method of promoting Keihin Kyuko’s Haneda Airport Line and Airport Bus service. According to the company, this is Blue Sky’s first time to target shoppers at its airport stores using advertising printed on shopping bags.
The sides of the shopping bags are 32 cm tall by 33 cm wide, and can open 14 cm at the top. They are eye-catching even from a distance because of the simple font used for "Haneda" and "Keikyu" (short for Keihin Kyuko), and the illustrations of a train and a bus. The use of red used in both Blue Sky's designs and on the bodies of the trains makes the collaboration even more fitting. Sixty-thousand bags have been prepared.
The promotion will go on for about six months. The number of people using the targeted airports is about 22 million a year.
