Air Do’s “Bear Do” - Special Aircraft for Airline’s 10th Anniversary
(04/22/2009)
On April 6, Air Do (Hokkaido International Airlines, based in Sapporo, Hokkaido Prefecture) put the “Bear Do” into service, an aircraft with a specially designed fuselage featuring Bear Do, the airline’s mascot.
As part of its tenth anniversary of business operations, the entire Boeing 737-500 (seating 126) was painted with a soothing Bear Do illustration of the mascot ready to go travel, camera in-hand. The mascot appears in designs in the cabin, too, with Bear Do headrest covers and paper cups so that you can “travel with Bear Do” on the plane.
The Bear Do plane’s flight schedule is not yet finalized, but according to the April-May timetable, the special 737-500 may fly on all the carrier’s routes. In addition to routes connecting the four Hokkaido cities of Sapporo, Asahikawa, Hakodate and Memanbetsu with Tokyo International Airport (Haneda Airport), Air Do added a Sendai-Sapporo route in November of last year, as well as a Sapporo-Niigata route this past January.
In addition, the airline is developing all sorts of tenth anniversary campaigns for its customers. They include redesigned cabin crew uniforms starting this month, as well as special fares and limited-time goods sold in-flight.
