FDA to Start Service from Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Hub on July 23 - Flight Schedule & Fares Submitted to MLIT

On April 24, Fuji Dream Airlines (FDA), the new airline based in the city of Shizuoka and whose hub will be at Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport (scheduled to open on June 4), submitted documents to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) outlining its start of service, flight schedule and fares.

FDA has decided to enter service on July 23. As announced previously, the airline will fly two Embraer 170 (seats 76) RJs (regional jets), with two daily roundtrip flights from Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport to Komatsu, one to Kumamoto, and one to Kagoshima.

Flight Schedule.

Komatsu Route

Depart Shizuoka at 8:35 a.m. & 4:45 p.m.

Depart Komatsu at 10:10 a.m. & 6:20 p.m.

Kumamoto Route

Depart Shizuoka at 8:45 a.m.

Depart Kumamoto at 10:50 a.m.

Kagoshima Route

Depart Shizuoka at 12:15 p.m.

Depart Kagoshima at 2:25 p.m.

Fares (Adults, One-Way Economy)

Shizuoka - Komatsu 23,800 yen

Shizuoka - Kumamoto 38,800 yen

Shizuoka - Kagoshima 40,800 yen

* Other fares such as for children and various discounts will also be set for each route.

All fares and conditions will be announced by mid-May, and tickets are scheduled to go on sale starting June 1. Under FDA’s business plan, fares on each route will be set at a level “between reserved seats and Green Car seats on the Shinkansen (bullet train),” with a goal of achieving a 70% passenger load factor.
