Free Taxi Service between Kitakyushu Airport & Fukuoka for Star Flyer Passengers on Early Morning & Late-Night Flights

Starting May 11, Star Flyer (Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture) began a free charter taxi service between Kitakyushu Airport and the Hakata and Tenjin areas in the city of Fukuoka.

The airline is now offering free ground transportation to downtown Fukuoka for travelers on early morning and late-night Star Flyer flights between Narita and Kitakyushu, with the purpose being to increase the convenience of Star Flyer flights and of Kitakyushu Airport, whose facilities are expected to supplement those at Fukuoka Airport, which has flight time restrictions. Star Flyer will charter nine-passenger vehicles from Daiichi Kotsu Sangyo Co., Ltd. to serve as taxis. Daiichi, also based in Kitakyushu, already operates between the airport and the Hakata and Tenjin areas.

Passengers on the below flights will be able to use the taxi service, excluding those receiving discounted inclusive tour fares.

SFJ91 (Departure: Haneda 9:35 p.m. - Arrival: Kitakyushu 11:15 p.m.)
SFJ93 (Departure: Haneda 11:15 p.m. - Arrival: Kitakyushu 12:55 a.m.)
SFJ70 (Departure: Kitakyushu 5:30 a.m. - Arrival: Haneda 6:55 a.m.)

According to Star Flyer, the new service will allow travelers to stay in Tokyo past 10:00 p.m. and return to Hakata overnight, or leave Hakata before dawn and arrive in Tokyo to attend an 8:00 a.m. meeting. The company’s press release states, “We can offer transportation that will expand the timeframe air travelers in the Hakata area can make use of and increase the convenience of air travel.”

Advance reservations are required to use the taxi service.
