"Pom Juice Faucets" at Matsuyama Airport - Sampling Events for Local Mikan Juice

Pom Juice Faucets event

An event offering visitors to Matsuyama Airport (Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture) drinks of local Ehime mandarin juice from the “Pom Juice Faucets” was held on August 17.

Since June, the airport's promotional organization has designated the third Sunday of each month "Matsuyama Airport 'Pom Juice Faucet' Day" in order to promote Ehime prefecture and encourage the use of flight routes there to airport visitors and across the nation. It is a free sampling event put on in collaboration with Ehime Beverage Inc., the distributor of Pom Juice, and has now been held three times.

The "faucets" serving Pom Juice are on the second floor of the departure lobby in Terminal 2, set in a specially prepared stand along with local Ehime bottled products and citrus fruits.

Local residents and airport visitors such as travelers returning from summer vacations line up at the stand between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to get a sample of this 100% fruit juice from Ehime. The atmosphere is congenial and resounds with the laughter of people young and old, who come to enjoy the unique combination of the famous local brand and the "faucets". The number of attendees from the latest event is still being added up, but the June and July events each succeeded in drawing between 700 and 750 people.

The sampling events will be held monthly until March of next year, and there are plans to hold other events in combination. Agricultural produce on exhibition differ each time, and the prefecture's Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Research Institute has announced that it will provide newly developed products.
