On August 7, All Nippon Airways (ANA, based in Minato Ward, Tokyo), launched the ANA Web Aviation Classroom on its website, ANA Sky Web.

The new addition to the airline’s website has a wide range of content for online visitors of all ages to enjoy as they acquire general knowledge about aviation and learn about the various work the people at ANA do. The site features the ANA Aviation Test and a Visual Work Guide with animations introducing what ANA employees do.

The ANA Aviation Test has three levels of difficulty: Trainee, Copilot and Captain. You can download an original certificate of proficiency and license upon passing each level.

The Visual Work Guide follows ANA employees during their workday to learn things you didn’t know about their work. As of the time this article was written, only the Pilot’s Work section is available. Here you can learn about the pilot’s work in a series of animations from pre-flight preparations to landing the aircraft. Cabin Crew and Maintenance Technician sections will be added later.

The website also includes others sections for learning and having fun such as Route Information from the Captain, which brings you highlights and trivia about the skies that only pilots know, and the Aircraft Maintenance Center that provides general information on aircraft maintenance from a maintenance technician perspective. In the future, ANA plans to offer various other programs to bring aviation closer to regular people.
