Soranchu Guide, a free magazine by Naha Airport in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture that launched in July, has been getting positive reviews.

Naha Airport Building, the company that manages and administers the airport terminal, started the magazine as the airport’s first print media to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the domestic terminal’s opening. Starting in May, the company studied other airport's published booklets and local area magazines to prepare for the launch. The magazine is printed on A4 paper and contains eight color pages (including the cover), and the eye-catching front cover has a colorful illustration of visitors flocking to gather at the airport.

The contents include an airport floor map, information on restaurants, gourmet food, local specialties, airport facilities, parking, promotional campaigns and more. The gourmet food info is on a page titled “Usagamisore,” which means “Enjoy your meal” in the Okinawan dialect. It comes with details of each restaurant’s menu of recommended items and photos.

According to Koichiro Yogi from Naha Airport Building’s Project Planning Department, the magazine has been well received by airport visitors and personnel, and over 5,000 copies have been distributed. Considerations are being made to distribute the magazine at more locations in the terminal and outside the airport.
