New Route to North America from Kansai Airport - Delta Flights to Seattle Starting June 2010
(11/16/2009)
Starting June 7, 2010, U.S. carrier Delta Air Lines will operate a new route between Kansai Airport and Seattle with one flight daily.
The route was previously operated by Northwest Airlines (currently a subsidiary of Delta). It was suspended on October 1, 2001, but Delta will offer renewed service in next year’s summer schedule. The flight schedule has a 6:00 p.m. departure from Kansai with a 12:05 p.m. arrival (local time) in Seattle, and a 12:45 p.m. departure from Seattle (local time) with a 4:00 p.m. arrival at Kansai (the following day). The aircraft to be used on the flights will be a Boeing 767-300ER with 35 business class seats and 181 economy class.
In the winter 2009/2010 schedule, the only routes from Kansai Airport to North America will be one bound for San Francisco, flown five times weekly by U.S. carrier United Airlines. The new route to North America is the first in the roughly two years since 2008.
