Launch of “Celebrating Ibaraki Airport’s Opening” Limited Edition Label of Asahi Super Dry Beer

On February 9, Sumida Ward, Tokyo-based Asahi Breweries, Ltd. will put on sale a limited edition beer in 500 ml bottles and 350 ml cans: “Asahi Super Dry - Celebrating Ibaraki Airport’s Opening.”
Asahi Breweries is commemorating the opening of Ibaraki Airport, the Tokyo metropolitan area’s third airport, on March 11 of this year with a limited production of the beer as part of its locally oriented business operations. The phrase “Celebrating Ibaraki Airport’s Opening” is printed in large characters (in Japanese) on the label below the logo with a drawing of an airplane. There will be 120,000 500 ml bottles and 672,000 350 ml cans sold in five prefectures: Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, Chiba and Saitama.
A spokesperson from Asahi Breweries’ Ibaraki branch, which designed the new beer, said, “We’ll be pleased if we can vitalize Ibaraki prefecture by selling the ‘Celebrating Ibaraki Airport’s Opening’ label and create a sense of solidarity with the local area by sharing in the excitement of the airport’s opening.”
