Korean Air began offering a Japanese-compatible iPhone application on May 17.
The application, called the Korean Air iPhone Application, allows users to use the globally popular smartphone to check information on the airline’s flight reservations, seating status, arrival and departure status, fares (for flights departing from Korea), mileage points and more in real time in Japanese. The icon on the screen can also be used to call the carrier’s Japan service center. In addition to Japanese, the application can handle Korean, Chinese and English.
Korean Air is promoting the app on its website until May 31 to celebrate it release. Two random winners will be chosen among those who download the application and store a screenshot to win free roundtrip tickets to Seoul. Other online events for the application are planned starting in June.
Several major airlines have announced iPhone applications since last year, but there are few non-Japanese carriers offering Japanese-compatible products.
