Japan Airlines (JAL) and Aomori Prefecture are running the “Fly to JAL & Aomori Prefecture” sales campaign starting June 1.

JAL, which flies to the prefecture’s Aomori and Misawa Airports, and Aomori Prefecture are widely promoting the prefecture’s charms and stimulating air travel demand with the purpose of encouraging the use of the two airports. A total of 141 randomly selected travelers flying on domestic JAL Group flights landing at either Aomori or Misawa Airport during the campaign periods will win Aomori Prefecture souvenir baskets, tickets on domestic JAL flights, free stays at Hotel JAL City Aomori or JAL Class J-e coupons. The prefectural souvenirs include scallops, sake, rice, juice and snacks made from apples and grapes.

The first round of the campaign is for boardings from June 1 through July 31 (application period: June 5 - August 10) and the second round is for boardings from August 1 through September 30 (application period: August 11 - October 15). Only those who are JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) members in Japan flying a total of two or more times on the eligible routes during the two rounds of the campaign will be selected for prizes (certain fares excluded). Check the sales campaign website for detailed application conditions and procedures.

JAL Group has been motivated to implement comprehensive joint sales campaigns with local governments to try and expand the domestic travel market while also wanting to “enliven Japan through regional development.”
