On July 3, Itabashi Ward-based taxi company Anzen Group Corporation launched a multilingual website so customers can make reservations for its Bilingual Taxi service in English, Chinese and Korean. The taxis serve the Tokyo area and Haneda and Narita Airports.

By allowing advance reservations in each language for the airport taxi service providing drivers who can speak Chinese, English and Korean (which first became available in February of this year), Anzen Group is working to expand the service to cope with increased ridership due to relaxed tourist visa requirements for Chinese citizens that started this month and the expansion and internationalization of Haneda Airport to be completed in October.

The website displays detailed information on the service and fares in all three languages. The Regular Fare page explains how fares are calculated. There are also fixed fares for rides between various areas and Haneda Airport, Narita Airport and Tokyo Disney Resort.

Sample Fares to/from Haneda

Shibuya/Shinjuku: 6,000 yen (5 a.m. - 10 p.m.) or 8,000 yen (10 p.m. - 5 a.m.)

Nakano: 8,000 yen (5 a.m. - 10 p.m.) or 9,000 yen (10 p.m. - 5 a.m.)

Musashino: 11,000 yen (5 a.m. - 10 p.m.) or 13,000 yen (10 p.m. - 5 a.m.)

Anzen Group started up the Bilingual Taxi service because the company sees demand for multilingual tourist services such as transport to and from the airports and throughout Tokyo increasing as more travelers come to Japan and taxi customers become more diverse. Reservations can only be made through the website up to 72 hours in advance.
