Centrair Business Jet Hanger Opened to Public - Small Aircraft Also on Display

On September 4, Chubu International Airport will hold the Centrair Aircraft Exhibition, when the airport’s business jet hanger and small aircraft will be made available to the public.

The airport will make part of the business jet hanger, which began offering service in September of last year, open to the general public for the first time, conduct tours and photo sessions of Cesnas and other small aircraft (14 in total planned) not typically available for the public to see up close, hold aviation workshops led by pilots and mechanics, put on a special raffle for a chance to sit in an airplane cockpit and other scheduled events.

The exhibition will be held in two parts, from 12 to 2 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees can enter in pairs, with a limit of 125 pairs (250 people). Admission is JPY 1,500 per pair and applications can be made via a special form available at the airport’s website. The application deadline is August 20 (or when all available slots are taken).

An airport spokesperson said that this is “the first time to gather together 10 or more business jets and other aircraft since the airport opened.” As of the time this article was written, applications were going well, with nearly 80% of the events slots were already taken, mainly by people residing near the airport.
