2 Daily Flights between Haneda and Taipei Songshan by Eva Air Starting in October

On August 2, Taiwan-based Eva Airways Corp. announced that it will operate two daily commercial flights starting this fall connecting Haneda Airport with Taipei Songshan Airport.

With the establishment of new routes in accordance with the increase in landing slots for international flights at Haneda Airport due to its re-expansion, the flight schedule will have departures from Haneda at 10:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. and arrivals at 11:15 a.m. and 7:50 p.m. The flights will be operated on board 252-seat Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The first flight will be on October 31 (pending approval).

By establishing the new route, Eva Air will have flights on a total of eight routes to Japan. Routes currently being served are to New Chitose, Sendai, Narita, Chubu, Komatsu, Osaka (Itami) and Fukuoka.

Rather than through their governments’ aviation bureaus, talks between Japan and Taiwan on flight volume have proceeded between the Interchange Association, Japan (IAJ) and the East Asia Relations Commission, who agreed in December of last year to establish commercial flights connecting Haneda with Taipei Songshan starting this October. These will be the first commercial flights between Haneda and Taiwan since 2002.
