On October 14, a 152-inch display showing messages submitted by the general public made its debut at Narita International Airport in Narita, Chiba Prefecture.

The display, set up for travelers’ enjoyment while waiting in the terminal, was part of the airport’s Message Event: On Airport Festival being held for a limited time period in front of security screening in the north part of the departures lobby. Made by Panasonic Corporation, the display was reportedly the world’s largest.

Messages shown were divided into four categories: fun travel experiences, fortunate travel purchases, unforgettable foreign cuisine and memorable travel photos/episodes. Messages could also be sent “to people embarking on a trip.” They could be submitted via PC or mobile email, as well as through Twitter.

According to the airport company, the message event was very popular among passengers and finished on the 17th.
