On October 16, Makinohara, Shizuoka Prefecture-based Fuji Dream Airlines Co., Ltd. (FDA) debuted its fourth aircraft at Shinshu Matsumoto Airport (a prefecturally-run airport officially known as Matsumoto Airport) in Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture, one of the destinations served by the carrier.

FDA's aircraft have a "multicolor concept" under which each one of the ERJ 170/175 planes are painted a different color. No. 1 is red, No. 2 is light blue and No. 3 is pink. This past June, five colors―green, orange, blue, purple and gray―were submitted to a popular vote on the airline's website. Many local residents supported green, which is the team color of Matsumoto Yamaga Football Club that ascended to the Japan Football League (JFL). Officials in the prefecture including Matsumoto Mayor Akira Sugenoya voiced support for the "Yamaga color." Upon reviewing the results of the voting, FDA decided in July to paint the aircraft green, "the Yamaga color and symbol of Shizuoka Prefecture's famed tea."

The new aircraft landed at the airport on the morning of the 16th, after which it performed two 45-minute demonstration flight and then departed for Shizuoka Airport by evening. The flights were visible from the airport's free observation deck and elsewhere. FDA's new plane will begin flying routes on the 17th and start serving Shinshu Matsumoto on the 18th.
