Joint Site by 9 Kyushu and Okinawa Airports to Attract Visitors - Borderless Promotional Project

On October 3, the operators of buildings at nine airports in Kyushu and Okinawa launched a joint promotional site, Kyushu Okinawa Blend, with the purpose of attracting visitors to their airports and promoting the region.

The airport passenger terminal operators in the region taking part in the planning are Kitakyushu Air Terminal, Fukuoka Airport Building, Saga Air Terminal, Nagasaki Airport Building, Kumamoto Airport Building, Oita Air Terminal, Miyazaki Airport Building, Kagoshima Airport Building and Naha Airport Building.

The nine companies started the Kyushu Okinawa "Sky Trip" Project (Kyushu Airport Building Visitor Promotion Study Group) in April of last year to study and execute measures to increase the number of visitors to regional airports, and it chose "Kyushu Okinawa Blend" as its slogan. "Blend" expresses the desire for visitors to personally "blend and enjoy" the diverse allures of Kyushu and Okinawa.

The site provides updated information on "Recommendations" from each airport’s staff regarding souvenirs, menus and take-out meals, as well as a borderless sightseeing map "the Blend Map," a check sheet for planning a customized trip, an event calendar and more.

A spokesperson from Fukuoka Airport Building working in the project’s office said, "we want to broaden the scope of the Kyushu Okinawa Blend concept on the Internet, in addition to the project’s visitor promotion events at Haneda Airport and elsewhere." The spokesperson also said that they want to show that they are serious about expanding promotions.
