For a limited time only, Shizuoka, Shizuoka Prefecture-based Fuji Dream Airlines (FDA) is offering free beer on certain flights in a service that has been well received among travelers.

FDA is providing passengers of legal drinking age (20 in Japan) with free 250-ml cans of Sapporo Black Label Draft Beer on flights departing between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. The offer is part of an effort starting on August 1 to improve in-flight service. "The hot summer has been a factor, but the service has been a huge hit among commercial travelers since it began," said an FDA PR spokesperson.

The following flights are offering the free Sapporo beer service:

149 (Shizuoka - Fukuoka)

148 (Fukuoka - Shizuoka)

307 & 309 (Nagoya Komaki - Fukuoka)

308 & 310 (Fukuoka - Nagoya Komaki)

337 (Nagoya Komaki - Kumamoto)

338 (Kumamoto - Nagoya Komaki)

The new service is the first by FDA to provide alcoholic beverage in flight. It will run until August 31.
