In August, Narita International Airport expanded its free Wi-Fi zones in the passenger terminals.

Followed by the free service provided around the departures lobbies and the waiting areas in front of international departures security of both terminals that began last May, Narita has added twelve more zones inside restricted areas beyond security and passport control.

The airport began developing its free Wi-Fi service for the public in limited areas in June of last year, but has been gradually expanding them since major airports outside Japan have been expanding their free Wi-Fi services while traveler demand for them increases.

There are also plans to further expand the zones this month and provide Wi-Fi in almost all waiting areas in the airport's passenger terminals. "Free Wi-Fi Zone" posters have been put up indicating the service areas to provide travelers with greater convenience.

Paid Wi-Fi services continue to be on offer in areas outside the free zones. Locations for the new free Wi-Fi zones can be checked at Narita Airport's English language website under "Airport Guide" - "Facilities & Services" - "Wireless and Cable LAN."
