Skymark Adding 4 Routes to Sendai and Kansai in April and May 2012

In the first half of 2012, Ohta Ward, Tokyo-based Skymark Airlines Inc. will open four routes to initiate new service to Sendai and Kansai Airports.

The new routes are listed below.

Starting in April:

Sendai - New Chitose (3 daily round-trip flights)
Sendai - Narita (1 daily round-trip flight)

Starting in May:

Kansai - New Chitose (2 daily round-trip flights)
Kansai - Naha (1 daily round-trip flight)

More daily round-trip flights will be added to the Kansai routes in June so that there will be four connecting to New Chitose and three to Naha. Fares will start at the Web Bargain rate of JPY 980 for the Sendai routes and JPY 780 for the Kansai routes. Flight schedules and other details will be announced at a later date.

This will be the first time for Skymark to fly to Sendai Airport, while the Kansai service will be the airline's first since it abandoned a route connecting to Haneda about six years prior in March 2006. Skymark hopes to provide greater convenience and stir aviation demand by adding service to Tohoku and flying more routes in and out of the Kansai region.
