Supercars and Classic Automobiles Gather at KIX for Osaka Motor Show-Related Event

On January 22, a group of around 60 supercars and classic cars from around the world gathered at Kansai International Airport in Izumisano, Osaka Prefecture.

It was part of the Nippon Classic Car Rally (NCCR), an event affiliated with the Osaka Motor Show happening the same day. Kansai International Airport was a midway goal point for the rally, which ran on public roads.

In the rally of 60 or so supercars and nostalgia-inducing classic automobiles that one rarely sees on the roads, the vehicles departed at one-minute intervals starting at 10:31 a.m. from Intex Osaka in the Osaka Nanko port district. They competed in a time trial to make the fastest lap on a course at Izumiotsu Phoenix, after which they took turns arriving in the Sky View observation hall at Kansai Airport starting at around 12:10 p.m. Visitors were afforded a close-up look at the vehicles until they departed at 12:31 p.m. for the motor show venue via local landmarks such as the Osaka Prefectural Government Building.

Models such as the Lamborghini Aventador, Lamborghini Countach and Ferrari F50 were placed in the rally by their owners. Admission for visitors was free.
