Business Jet Terminal Opening on March 31 at Narita Airport Will Be 1st in Tokyo Area

The first terminal for small business jets in the Tokyo metropolitan area will open on March 31 at Narita International Airport in Narita, Chiba Prefecture.

The new Business Aviation Terminal (Premier Gate) will open on the first floor of the South Operations Center next to Narita's Terminal 2. The airport is setting up the exclusive terminal to maintain privacy for business jet flyers, accelerate procedures with their own passport control, customs and quarantine facilities and allow for faster access to downtown Tokyo.

When the new terminal opens, Narita will also extend parking time limits for business jets from the current 14 days to 30 while adding five new spots for parking aircraft between 8 and 30 days. Owners will be able to apply for spots online starting April 2.

Narita is the first Tokyo-area airport to upgrade its ability to handle domestic business jets. Japan, which has lagged far behind the West, is expected to do more to promote the use of business jets in the country.

The terminal will be open between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. and will be available to companies and individuals. Each arrival and departure will incur a fee of JPY 250,000.
