As of April 1, visitors to Narita International Airport have been able to access multilingual travel information with a new videophone system.

The touchscreen displays have been set up at all of the manned information counters for airport visitors. Using the direct display allows people seeking information to talk with staff at another information counter when the personnel stationed there are busy or otherwise unavailable.

The service is available in Japanese and English, and also caters to Chinese and Korean travelers, who the airport expects it will need to assist even more in the future. The screens can display terminal maps and other information to draw the route to a destination in the airport and otherwise assist travelers.

The videophone terminals, which operate from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., have been installed at 11 information counters in Terminal 1 and 8 counters in Terminal 2.
