On July 10, Narita International Airport in Narita, Chiba Prefecture released "NRT_Airport Navi," the first official multilingual app produced by a Japanese airport.

The app provides an airport info search function, along with various other features, in four languages: Japanese, English, Chinese (simplified and traditional) and Korean. NRT_Airport Navi is available for the iPhone and Android devices. Users can find information on terminal stores, register their flights, receive notifications of departure gate and time changes, and more. The app can also follow the user's position indoors and has an experimental navigation feature to guide a person to a destination within the terminals.

In addition to the features, the app has a blue-toned design symbolizing "the world" and "the skies." An airport publicist said, "The app has a distinctive international feel to it, like the airport, to get the user excited about their trip."

The app is compatible with iPhone iOS 3.1.2 or higher and Android 2.2 or higher. Both versions are a free download at the App Store and Google Play (although a charge may be applied for transmitting the data).
