A baggage wrapping service became available at Chubu International Airport in Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture on September 28.

The Baggage Wrapping Service Counter opened in front of international check-in counter A on the passenger terminal's third floor. There, a special machine wraps up baggage in a translucent film that can prevent damage and stains, as well as keep baggage from being opened or its contents removed in transit.

The cost of the service for each piece of luggage is JPY 500 to 1,000 for standard baggage, and JPY 200 to 500 for cardboard boxes, sacks and the like.

Baggage wrapping services have long been a typical feature at airport terminals outside Japan, but they have begun making an appearance here as well in recent years. They are currently offered at Narita International Airport, Kansai International Airport and elsewhere.

The service at Chubu is available from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
