The first-ever localized advertising blitz at the baggage claims in Haneda Airport's (Ohta Ward, Tokyo) Domestic Terminals 1 and 2 commenced on December 22.

The project was part of Minato Ward, Tokyo-based Goodyear Japan Ltd.'s brand promotion. The Japanese subsidiary of the global tire company makes tires for aircraft, automobiles and other vehicles. In addition to the company logo and ads at the baggage claims, Goodyear Japan has set up model race cars to guide luggage along the conveyors belts, turning them into a mini raceway during the busy year-end travel rush. The models can be found at all eleven baggage claim carousels in Terminal 1 and the nine in Terminal 2. A statement from Goodyear Japan said, "We're hoping to make the act of watching other people's luggage pass by as you wait for your own a little less annoying."

This is the first time such an advertising blitz has been conducted in the baggage claim areas of Haneda Airport, which has many restricted areas closed to the public. The ads and models will be in place until January 6, 2013.
