On March 3, All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. (ANA) began Aflying an aircraft with livery supporting Tokyo's 2020 Olympics bid on international routes.

The "2020 Tokyo Bid Wrap Plane" is a Boeing 777-300ER with the bid logo -- "Tokyo 2020" and a Rising Sun -- painted along the top of the fuselage. By flying the aircraft on international commercial routes, ANA hopes to widely publicize the bid at airports both within and outside Japan and to spur international interest and support up until the host city is selected in September of this year. The first trip was Flight 209 to Frankfurt, which departed from Narita on March 3. Further details on the aircraft's schedule will be forthcoming.

As an official partner of the bid committee, ANA has also been flying a wrapped plane (a Boeing 767-300) exclusively on domestic routes since last November.
