All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. (ANA) has been offering digital content to travelers in lounges at 14 airports across Japan since March 13.

ANA, in a partnership with Koto Ward, Tokyo-based Nihon Unisys, Ltd., has provided the service at its lounges in Osaka International Airport (also known as Itami Airport) since last September. The service offers digital content primarily consisting of magazines and news. ANA has now expanded it to 14 Japanese airports with domestic and international connections.

Travelers in one of the airport lounges can connect their computer, smartphone, tablet or other device to access original content. Based on Nihon Unisys' "LoMeS®" (Location-based Media Service) concept, the system employs a "platform to provide special information and service to a limited segment of people in a specific location."

The new service is available at international lounges in Haneda, Narita and Kansai airports as well as domestic lounges at Haneda, Narita, New Chitose, Sendai, Komatsu, Kansai, Okayama, Matsuyama, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Kagoshima, Naha and Itami Aairports.

There are 58 types of content ranging from magazines to comics. Travelers can also access information on Japanese culture, traditional crafts, food and more, along with inside info from ANA cabin crews. Some of the content is available to download and view outside the lounge.
