Preparations are now moving ahead on opening a new hotel, tentatively named "Royal Park - The Haneda," which is being constructed to coincide with the March 2014 expansion to the International Terminal at Haneda Airport (address: 2 Haneda Airport, Ohta Ward, Tokyo).

The new hotel will be located in the eight-story hotel wing of the additional structure to the International Terminal's main building, which will connect to the new Satellite. In addition to accommodations for general travelers, the facility will include a "transit hotel" where passengers making connections at Haneda but not officially entering Japan can stay. The transit hotel, which will improve the features offered by the airport as a whole, will be the first of its kind to open in Japan.

Royal Park - The Haneda will be the fourth in the "The Series," the new core brand of Royal Park Hotel Co., Ltd. The Haneda Airport location will open at the end of September 2014. The facility, in a building covering 2,200 square meters of land and containing 11,585 square meters of floor space, will have a lobby, front desk and restaurants on the fourth floor, which will connect directly to the departures lobby on the terminal's third floor. The 315 guestrooms will be on floors two through eight. The transit hotel, meanwhile, will have 17 guestrooms inside the airport's secure area with a refreshment room and other amenities. Most of the construction, which began in May 2013, is already compete, and work on the interior and other finishing touches are now underway.

The hotel set up an opening preparation office in Haneda Airport Terminal 1 on January 15th. Royal Park Hotel announced that the office's director and the hotel's general manager will be Hiroyuki Tobari, whose resume includes a stint as general manager of hotel Seiyo Ginza. Tobari says he will speed up preparations for the opening and toward realizing the hotel's concept of helping guests see their dreams.
