Mori Building Planning New Business to Carry Travelers from Narita Airport to Roppongi Ark Hills by Helicopter

Mori Building Co., Ltd, based in Minato Ward, Tokyo, will start operating passenger helicopters this spring that will connect Narita International Airport in Narita, Chiba Prefecture, with Ark Hills, the multipurpose city complex in downtown Tokyo.

The company already announced on January 15 that it has undergone reorganization and set up a Helicopter Business Preparation Office, and there are plans to make a full investment to establish a transportation company.

Mori Building stated that the new business will contribute “partially to improving the glamour of Tokyo.” If the plans are carried out, it will connect the airport and downtown in between 15 and 20 minutes. A company spokesperson called it “a provision of infrastructure that will improve Tokyo’s competitiveness as an international city.”

The plans call for one or two helicopters to be operated at first, and consideration is already underway on purchasing vehicles from overseas makers. Important people and business travelers are expected to use the service. Fares, timetables and other details will be announced as soon as they are decided upon.

This helicopter service for travelers from the airport compliments the Narita Heli Express provided by Yuhi Airlines (based in Okegawa, Saitama Prefecture) to Tokyo, Kawajima (Saitama Prefecture) and Gunma.
