On February 23, three brand stores with their “first-ever Japanese airport locations” will open at Narita International Airport in Narita, Chiba Prefecture.

The three stores are clothing, sundries and travel accessory retailer MUJI to GO., wristwatch specialty shop TiC TAC and designer T-shirt retailer Graniph. All the stores are located on the main departures floor in the Central Building of Terminal 1 at the airport.

MUJI to GO is a new Muji Ryohin business with a “travel and mobile” concept. The Narita branch is the fourth to open after stores at Hong Kong International Airport, JFK International Airport and Tokyo Station. The sales floors and assortments have been “modified” for international airports and station terminals according to a company spokesperson, and the stores handle clothing, sundries, bags, travel accessories, stationary and foodstuffs. The floor space is about 70 square meters.

TiC TAC handles a wide assortment of popular brand wristwatches, world time clocks, travel clocks and more. The floor space is about 43 square meters.

Graniph sells items including T-shirts designed in collaboration with artists from around the world, with a variety usually of over 100 types of products. The floor space is about 40 square meters, and the current temporary store will become a permanent branch.

The location of the three stores was not a retail area before, but the airport set it up as a place for temporary stores on a provisional basis. It was re-designated as a full retail area after confirming the new demand from purchasing trends at the stores and hearing strong assertions that the entire area had been revitalized. The stores are open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
