On June 7, All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. (ANA) began using Twitter to provide its Flight Info Distribution Service for domestic and international flights.

Twitter users can get tweets of 140 characters or less containing various information on flight schedules in Japan and around the world by following "@ANA_flight_info" with their Twitter accounts.

The service mainly features the latest updates on possible flight schedule changes that day or the following based on weather forecasts and other factors. Messages are sent five times daily between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Japan Standard Time (GMT +9). All information is in Japanese.

Twitter is already widely used by western airports and airlines to provide official services to users due to the website's ability to deliver information quickly and its user-friendliness. ANA's information service is the first genuine effort by a major Japanese airline to utilize Twitter.
