Peach's New KIX-NRT Route in Oct. 1st to Tokyo Area - 2 Roundtrip Flights Daily

Low-cost carrier (LCC) Peach, operated by Izumisano, Osaka Prefecture-based Peach Aviation Limited, announced on June 11 that it will open its first route to the Tokyo metropolitan area with service between Kansai International Airport (KIX) outside Osaka to Narita International Airport (NRT) outside Tokyo starting on October 27.

The flight schedule for the new route will be as follows.

Depart KIX 7:10 a.m. - Arrive NRT 8:35 a.m.

Depart NRT 9:05 a.m. - Arrive KIX 10:35 a.m.

Depart KIX 7:00 p.m. - Arrive NRT 8:25 p.m.

Depart NRT 8:55 p.m. - Arrive KIX 10:25 p.m.

Peach said it is basing the aircraft, an Airbus A320, at Kansai Int'l to make the risk of cancellation due to Narita's flight time restrictions "extremely low."

Peach Aviation CEO Shinichi Inoue said the carrier "has received a great many requests from travelers for a route serving the Tokyo area." He noted that the morning and evening combination of roundtrip flights will meet demand for travelers making daytrips to Tokyo Disneyland and elsewhere in the area, and Inoue expressed confidence that there is also untapped demand such as travelers from Narita who will want to make connections to other Peach routes through Kansai Int'l.

Peach now has nine routes (six domestic and three international) serving its hub at Kansai Int'l. The carrier offered the fourth-most seats among domestic airlines during the Golden Week holidays this year.
